I was excited to recently learn about a new tea company… Plucker’s Pick. The owners, Rubesh and Carrie Jacobs, are a husband and wife team who initially founded SRJacobs & Company. The goal… to capitalize on new and diverse economic opportunities. The purpose… pursuing businesses featuring products and services from under-developed and developing countries to showcase the strength of their resources.
Plucker’s Pick is their first such endeavor. The Jacobses strive to deliver the best tea possible and thus have worked with Sri Lanka’s finest tea experts, scientists, and tea garden management teams.
Composition: Black tea from Kenilworth Garden in Sri Lanka
Dry Visual: Dark brown, almost black, twisted tea leaves of nice size. Not full of broken tea leaves like many black teas I have the opportunity to taste.
Dry Aroma: A rich sweet smelling tea.
Flavor: Orange Pekoe Tea by Plucker’s Pick is a very flavorful full-boded tea. It is very smooth with no hint of dryness or bitterness. I found Orange Pekoe enjoyable without the addition of milk or sweetener. While milk and sugar are recommended, I fear the taste of the tea will be covered and subsequently lost. I am writing this review while simultaneously tasting my third cup and have found the taste of Orange Pekoe Tea to have a consistent flavor with each cup.
Liquor: A rich reddish brown hue.
Brewing Time: Recommended brewing time is 3 minutes. I brewed for the recommended 3 minutes.
Manufacturer: Plucker’s Pick
If you have had the opportunity to drink a cup of Orange Pekoe Tea by Plucker’s Pick, stop by and share your experience. I look forward to brewing more for iced tea. Until then… Happy Tea Drinking!
