In search for new teas to experiment, I recently placed an order with Adagio Teas. Although not traditionally a huge lover of green tea, I decided to expand my tea repertoire by ordering the Green Tea Sampler. First, I was impressed that the sampler came with six different varieties. One of which is the subject of today’s tea review… Citron Green.
Composition: Green tea from China with the delicate flavors of lemon and lime.
Dry Visual: Bright green leaves of decent size, including a few twigs, with actual bits of lemon and lime. Citron Green looks like fresh cut grass!
Dry Aroma: Yummy! The citrus smell of lemon and lime dominate Citron Green.
Flavor: Delicious. Citron Green contained a mild green tea flavor accompanied by a refreshing citrus kick. The added flavors of lemon and lime really set this green tea apart. I presume the citrus blend in Citron Green reduced the natural yet vegetal quality of the green tea. I enjoyed both with and without sweetener – Citron Green is delicious either way.
Liquor: A rich yellow with a slight green hue.
Brewing Time: Recommended brewing time is 3 minutes. After brewing 3 minutes and tasting, I decided to brew for one additional minute.
Manufacturer: Adagio Teas
Citron Green is both light and refreshing. A great summertime tea that I believe would be just as enjoyable iced. I would recommend Citron Green for those who do not normally drink green tea, but are looking for a new tea experience. Until we chat again… Happy Tea Drinking!
