I always find pleasure in discovering and tasting a new tea. Each time I place a new order or receive a swap from a friend, I’m like a giggling teenager.
Come giggle with me as I recount my experience with my newest tea discovery… Serenity. I have shared a picture with you from the Tavalon website.
Composition: An herbal blend consisting of Chamomile, Peppermint, Lemongrass, Rooibos and Vanilla.
Dry Visual: Very colorful… each of the ingredients provide striking contrasts of color. Yellow, dark green, red, and light green… it’s all in there!
Dry Aroma: Mint was the first aroma to greet my nose. The next dominant smell was lemon, followed by a slight vegetal/grassiness.
Flavor: Serenity is very smooth and delicious, presenting a plethora of flavors. Initially the sweetness of vanilla, followed by a mild mint, layered with a hint of lemon, and finished with the nuttiness of rooibos. The chamomile was very subtle, blending into the background of the other flavors. All of the ingredients both blended together AND asserted their individuality. I enjoyed Serenity both with sweetener and without – my preference is with a dab of honey.
Liquor: A rich amber hue with hints of red that I attribute to the rooibos.
Brewing Time: Recommended brewing time is 5 minutes. After brewing for 5 and tasting, I opted to brew for an additional 5 minutes, for a total of 10 minutes, with multiple intermittent tastings.
Manufacturer: Tavalon Tea
Serenity is a really nice tea for those individuals with a caffeine free diet. I would also enjoy a cup in the afternoon or evening when craving a nice hot cup of tea without worrying about late night jitters. The riot of flavors make Serenity a perfect match for lovers of hearty teas. Until your next cup… Happy Tea Drinking!
