Hey Summer!

Thanks for your comments about the Green Tea Tropical.

Also, I sent responses to both of your emails the same day they were received. I don't know why they are getting lost in cyberspace. Going off the top of my head - your question was about the number of samples I believe - if so, your understanding is correct.

I'll have to see what's going on with my email.

I found that the second steeping didn't have that. However, that was in the winter, so it could have been a different harvest.

Btw, could you please please answer my email? Thanks!

Hey Jo,

I found the estate name - Rungmook Estate in Darjeeling, India. I will make sure that I post the estate name for all of my teas from Darjeeling.

Jo,

I think it was meant for me to try pi Lo Chun again. After I came across your post I found another post shortly thereafter. I wasn't even looking for it. One recommendation - brew for less time. I certainly will try again - just to be sure.

Bi Luo Chun comes in various flavours, ranging from vegetal to ethereal floral (the latter often sold for extremely high prices).
While I really like the floral version, I think the slightly vegetal / nutty kind is good as an everyday tea for most tea drinkers.
Anodyne wrote an interesting post about <a href="http://chadao.blogspot.com/2007/05/anodyne-on-teasprings-dong-ting-bi-luo.html" rel="nofollow">Bi Luo Chun over at Cha Dao</a> that you might want to read...

I guess, my message is: don't give up on Bi Luo Chun just yet. Trying one tea often doesn't tell you too much about the tea type. Trying 3 or more teas of the same type from different sources will allow you to determine the overall character of a tea and make up your mind about likes or dislikes.

Hey Jo,

The tea came from The Simple Leaf. I'l have to see if I can find out from The Simple Leaf what estate the tea came from.

I think you are right about Decadence not being the name of a tea estate in Darjeeling.

I'll keep you posted.

It's hard to judge whether anybody else has tried this tea, unless they purchased it from the same vendor ("Decadence" is not the name of a tea estate in Darjeeling I'm aware of).
Chances are that quite a few people have tried this tea, but under different names.
I never bought into the "fancy naming scheme" for single estate teas. These estates usually have a reputation amongst tea connoisseurs and many people buy a tea BECAUSE it is from a certain estate. Names like "Decadence" make a lot of sense from a marketing point of view (it obviously worked on you), but will almost always scare true enthusiasts away. This seems to be an expensive tea, so I'd like to know just what exactly I'm drinking...
