Last night I was watching preseason football – Houston was losing to Dallas in the second quarter, and sipping on a cup of tea. Is that an oxymoron? Perhaps… but most days after arriving home from work I find myself unable to sit down and relax until dinner is served. And then it is back to “work” around the house. Thus when I simply could not wait one more minute to steep and enjoy a coveted cup of tea, I found myself in front of the television, cuppa tea in hand. My choice… Tankha, a single estate oolong tea.
Composition: Indian oolong tea from the Phoobsering Estate in Darjeeling, India
Dry Visual: A beautiful palette of greens, tans and browns – woodsy in every sense of the word.
Dry Aroma: A light woodsy smell.
Flavor: Crisp and clean as with most high quality oolongs with a slightly floral taste. An excellent tea, Tankha is naturally sweet and does not require the addition of any sweetener. Of course I did sample with a little, “Sugar In the Raw” after my initial tasting. However my preference is to enjoy without.
Liquor: A beautiful amber hue with gold tones.
Brewing Time: Recommended brewing time is 3 minutes. I brewed for the recommended 3 minutes.
Manufacturer: The Simple Leaf
Caffeine: Yes.
If you enjoy a good oolong, you will enjoy Tankha. Sometimes it is nice to simply enjoy the taste of tea – no added flavors or ingredients added to the dry leaves. Additionally, without milk or even sugar added to the liquor. If you have enjoyed Tankha, stop by and let me know. I would love to hear your thoughts. Until then… Happy Tea Drinking!

I enjoy this tea very much… I’m trying to figure out how to use it in a blend.
Hey Summer,
Your have to let me know when you do. That is a tea I would certainly like to try.
I just ordered this tea last week and tried it for the first time this Sunday, then again yesterday and I’m about to make myself another cup this morning!
I love the light flavors and it’s definitely enjoyable without any added ingredients… Mmm… Gotta get to some hot water and make some tea!
Hey Mandy Bee,
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I love oolongs. Drinking one right now… Monkey Picked Oolong by Pearl Fine Teas. May need to drink another cup – this stuff is delicious!!!
